Cooler Master hat mit dem V8 einen sehr guten und vor allen dingen qualitativ hochwertigen Kuhler ins Rennen geschickt. Die Verarbeitung ist vorbildlich und das neue Kuhldesign kann die von Cooler Master gestellten Erwartungen erfullen. Zwar ist der vom Hersteller mitgelieferte Lufter auf 12 Volt deutlich horbar, jedoch ist dann auch die Leistung als sehr gut zu bezeichnen. Fur den User der ein leises System sein eigen nennen will, ist der V8 aber auch geeignet. Im 5 und 7 Volt Betrieb ist er fast nich wahrnehmbar und verfugt auch dort uber eine sehr gute Kuhlleistung. Einzig der doch recht hohe Preis von kanpp 50,-€ konnte uns nicht ganz uberzeugen. Fur die gebotene Performance und die Qualitat bei der Verarbeitung bekommt der Cooler Master V8 Kuhler von uns den Goldaward.

Cooler Master did shift up the performance level with the "V8". This cooler provides an outstanding performance at full throttle and eben at half throttle enough power to fight the competitors sucessfully. If you're looking for the best performance, this is the cooling-weapon of choice.

De Cooler Master V8 koelt zeer goed en is daarnaast een zeer mooi product dat niet zal misstaan in een casemod. Hoewel het bevestigen via moertjes noodzakelijk is voor een goede werking van de koeler zou het Cooler Master niet schaden als ze hiervoor een betere oplossing zouden zoeken (het kost een hoop tijd om de koeler te bevestigen).

Ik kan iedereen deze koeler aanraden zodra hij daadwerkelijk te koop is. De advies prijs voor de V8 wordt 54.95. Dit is een stuk goedkoper in vergelijking met koelers van bijvoorbeeld Noctua en Thermalright die al gauw 5 euro duurder zijn en niet perse beter presteren.

Over the years Cooler Master has developed some of the industry's most impressive computer cases, with their most recent examples, such as the HAF 932 and COSMOS series, by far their best. However more recently they have also been making a name for themselves in the cooling business, with products such as the Hyper Z600 which has quickly established itself as a high-end product.

Topping off the excellent performance is the V8's devilish good looks. The Cooler Master V8 is possibly one of the coolest looking heatsinks we have seen. The internally mounted 120mm fan is a nice touch and allows Cooler Master to efficiently cool all four heatsinks with a single quiet fan. The bright red LED's hidden under the black cover are also a nice touch, that make for a cool effect.

The inclusion of a manual fan speed controller is also very nice and a welcomed addition to the V8. With all these features, and of course the amazing performance, we expect that the V8 will come at a price. Although that price is not entirely clear as yet, we expect the V8 to retail for around $60 - $70 US, which would be appropriate for a high-end cooler competing with top notch products from makers such as Thermalright. Overall we have been amazed by how well the V8 works and shall be giving it our performance award.

I was very impressed with the Cooler Master V8's performance. Using a total of 8 heat pipes, it makes a strong impression on any enthusiast's heart. The build was solid, installation was a breeze, and it looks very impressive inside of the tower.

As I stated above, the Intel retail CPU cooler will work just fine for most processors, so long as you don't plan to overclock. If you want to get the most out of your CPU via overclocking however, I would certainly recommend some sort of aftermarket cooling solution and as we saw here today, Cooler Master's V8 is an excellent candidate.

This CPU cooler has a lot going for it. Starting with pure aesthetics, this is one nice looking unit with a unique design. Four separate banks of cooling fins are sandwiched by a 120mm fan, all of which are connected to the base of the heatsink via eight different heat pipes. Cooler Master integrated a rheostat-style fan speed controller, accessible by using the included add-in card slot. All of the necessary hardware is included for installation as well as a tube of thermal paste.

Installation on an Intel LGA775 CPU socket requires removal of the motherboard from the case in order to install a backplate and secure the unit to the board. The included instructions were decently written with plenty of diagrams to guide you along.

During use, the fan was very quiet on low and just barely audible on high over my other system fans. I really expected the fan to be kind of loud, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The V8 performed really well during testing and I have little doubt that I can squeeze a few hundred more MHz out of this processor. I wish I could have tested against more CPU coolers, but this is the first aftermarket one I have used with this configuration as it is a new test system.

My only complaint about the V8 is its size. Be warned that it won't fit in all cases. The unit was about 1/2" too tall in my case and I couldn't reinstall my side panel without some creative thinking.

Coolermaster's V8 heatsink is compatible with Intel socket 775 and AMD socket 754/939/940/AM2+ processors. The standardized heatsink brackets that Coolermaster use with its products are more complicated than necessary, requiring you to remove the entire motherboard from the case and pop in a special back plate and tighten nuts. The CPU cooler arrives with a variety of brackets, screws and nuts which are all proprietory to this design.

The multi-language manual makes installation pretty straightforward, but is tedious. Coolermaster use this mounting "system" with the majority of heatsinks it sells. We're not fans of it, but it does hold the cooler firmly in position. The PCI bracket is for the heatsink's manual fan speed controller.

This heatsink will be tested on FrostyTech's Intel LGA775 and K8 version of the Mk.II synthetic thermal temperature test platform, and compared against a hundred reference LGA775 and K8 heatsinks. The whole test methodology is outlined in detail here if you'd like to know what equipment is used, and the parameters under which the tests are conducted.

Cooler Master's new V8 CPU cooler delivers very good cooling with minimal noise and it really looks good.  The fit-n-finish is excellent and the performance to noise ratio is very good.  The cooler is relatively easy to install and features secure mounts for both Intel and AMD platforms.

The V8 from Cooler Master is a very unique looking cooler that performs quite well. In the cooler world today it is getting harder to tell one tower cooler from another. This is not the case with the V8. With its crazy heatpipe bends and the fan shroud it makes the cooler stand out. Combined with the fact it really can perform, to me this makes the V8 a very attractive cooler.

The V8 is a very nice cooler as you can use it for both LGA775 and LGA1366 with an optional mount bracket kit. Why is this nice? Well, if you drop $55-70 (depending on where you shop) on this cooler you’re going to want to use it as long as you can. With the availability of the LGA1366 bracket kit from Cooler Master you can buy the cooler for your current rig and transfer it to your Core i7 rig.

Legit Bottom Line: The V8 CPU cooler from Cooler Master is one of the most unique looking coolers I have looked at in the last year, and it performs as good as it looks.

The Cooler Master V8 mixes a rare blend of aesthetics and performance that is often pined for but rarely achieved.  Did the V8 succeed?  I would say definitely so.  The performance was superb for a chip notorious for pouring off heat.  The aesthetics are unique and interesting without being over the top.  Installation was easy, and flexible enough to accommodate the multitude of sockets available on the market.

The V8 is a excellent heatsink by a trusted company making it worthy of the Club Overclocker Seal of Approval.

There we have it. Finally, a heatsink, that's easy to use, performs so very well, and most importantly, looks great in the process. It was said ages ago on one forum or another "I don't care what it is, or how much it costs, I just want something that performs better". Now, when I got a hold of my first TRUE, those are the sorts of things I thought I would never think. But after a year and a half of the same sink holding that performance crown, I'd have to say the excitement had gone. Now, Cooler Master has finally come to snatch away that performance crown.

At the beginning of the review, I was a little concerned that the CoolerMaster V8 wouldn't be able to bring the muscle that would be a credit to its namesake. That concern was unfounded. The CoolerMaster V8 absolutely blows away the quality stock cooling solution provided by AMD. It also outperforms it's other burly sibling, the CoolerMaster 212 CPU Cooler by a pretty impressive margin.

I must give Cooler Master some credit for the innovative design that obviously is capable of performing. The Cooler Master V8 dropped our idle and load temperatures by a couple of degrees. I actually wish I had one of the higher performing fans on hand to see how it would do with a little more air flow. Overall though, the performance was excellent, seeing that this is a non-standard design.

Add everything together, and you will find that the Cooler Master V8 is an excellent choice for a cooling option, providing you can accommodate the space needed to install it. The V8 utilizes backplate style mounting which means you don't have to worry about the weight of the cooler being an issue unless you plan to move the rig a lot (LANs and so forth).

As mentioned in the video review the Cooler Master V8 is an excellent choice for a cooling option for any of the latest demanding CPU's today.  Just make sure you have space in your case to install it. The V8 utilizes backplate style mounting instead of the clip on design and is sturdy and tight making a solid contact for optimal cooling.  I really found that the design of the fan sandwiched in between really helps dissipate the heat out when installed correctly.  For any gaming rig or PC enthusiast looking to overclock their system without water cooling this is a terrific easy alternative that you cant go wrong with.

This CPU cooler was very impressive. Even at a high over clock of 4 Ghz with notable voltage increase, it still kept the CPU temps on full load down to 49 degrees which is lower than the stock cooler at stock speeds on idle. This from my experience is as good a temp drop as would be expected from a good basic water cooling kit offered on the market today and with such over clocks achievable on air, it begs the question whether air cooling is really on its last legs or can companies such as cooler master with continued research and development, be able to bring us even more high efficient air cooling answers to the heat problem plaguing our computer systems today.

Overall the Cooler Master v8 gets a score of 9.5 out of 10 frags giving it Clan Team Xtreme approval!

If you need high quality cooler for 24/7 CPU overclock we suggest you to take Cooler Master V8 into serious consideration. If you decide to purchase V8 model, and want to achieve maximum performances with this cooler, we should mention that you could buy one (or better two) additional 120mm fans. Both additional fans can be easily mounted on outer fan segments, parallel to original one, but you need to watch out for air flow and not to mount fans in a way that they counter each other effects (search for air flow arrow - should on each fan).  Of course tools for this modification are not provided by Cooler Master but with little amount of enthusiasm this shouldn’t be a problem. Since warm days are coming, 5 degrees Celsius lower temperature that this modification can result with, may get very useful. We can only congratulate Cooler Master on great product that can compete with best in high-end CPU cooler product group. Our warm recommendation (wholehearted).

Today we have the chance to look at the Cooler Master V8 CPU Cooler. Yes V8 in engine V8. Well it's not really an engine, but its pretty dang powerful like a V8 engine is. This award winning cooler offers four modular fin sets which have a total of eight heatpipes running through them. With 120mm fan backed by PWM and VR Controllers the V8 is both powerful and quiet. It is by far the best CPU Cooler we've reviewed.

The Cooler Master V8 by far is one of the most powerful coolers we've reviewed. It runs very cool even at low fan speeds with only 41C in idle and 52C under 100% load. The next best cooler, Noctua NH-C12P, we've reviewed does match the 41C, but is only able to cool at 54C at default speeds. The V8 is able to even outperform that by reaching a record low 38C on Idle and only 50C under load. It's interesting to have a cooler that supports both the PWM function and have a VR controller, giving the V8 the best of both worlds.

The Cooler Master V8 is by far the best performing cooler we've reviewed on this test system. It offers such a unique design and provides a whole ton of features. The PWM and VR Controller combined help give the V8 its powerful cooling performance. Powerful enough for overclocking capabilities this is by far the best product I've seen on the market for cooling any CPU, whether it's an i7, LGA 775, or AMD based socket the Cooler Master V8 has them all.

The Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler performed very well under testng. It proved that we can have great cooling capacity with quietness as well as having a CPU cooler that was asthetically pleasing for those with window mods on their cases. Also the Cooler Master V8 CPU cooler has a sturdy and solid design and it allowed the use of mounting with either using a retention plate or not using one. It gave AMD CPU users the freedom to be able to turn this unit 90 degrees to custom tailor it to their cooling needs. The retention plates had a solid, sturdy design that did not bend easily nor did they flex. The fan was barely audible even though the fan was at max throttle.

Overall, I was very impressed with this cooler, the design was magnificent and the performance was much better than I was expecting it to be. I would suggest that anyone who is looking for a new cooling solution to try this cooler out, or to anyone looking to begin down the overclocking road. I was very impressed by its cooling performance. 51C at load on an overclocked Phenom II is amazing. I have no doubt it would also perform very well on an i7 setup. So really, this cooler is a great choice for overclocked systems. I recommend the Cooler Master to anyone in need of an after market cooler, but more particularly to overclockers because of its awesome cooling performance.
